TURBINE HYDRAULIC FANS are custom designed for extremely difficult cooling applications that are commonly found on buses, off-highway vehicles, pumps, generators and other types of stationary equipment. They will exceed many original equipment manufacturers specifications since they range in size up to 60″ diameter and are capable of producing air flows up to 50,000 cfm. Hydraulic fan assemblies are suitable for radiator, charged air and other types of heat exchanger applications.
A basic hydraulic fan system has an engine driven pump connected to a motorized hydraulic fan assembly. The pump may be belt-driven or attached to the accessory drive. Optional on-demand systems typically utilize electro-hydraulic circuits to monitor and control flow. Fan operation can be controlled by a clutch mounted to the pump, an on-off valve or a speed control manifold. Electric sensors, that are responsive to temperature or pressure change, energize the on-demand system, controlling the pump and fan operation. ELECTRIC FAN ENGINEERING can supply a complete or partial system. Fan operation should be protected from personal and foreign objects.
