Today's environments require new and improved cooling techniques. The THERMAL STAR® MULTIFUNCTIONAL REFRIGERATED COOLING SYSTEM developed by ELECTRIC FAN ENGINEERING will not only meet these challenges, but will change the way we live, work and play. It is believed to be the first advanced-design portable, battery-operated liquid chiller assembly that can provide below-ambient temperature control for either personal or liquid-plate heat exchanger applications.
To control body temperature on personal cooling applications, a liquid is circulated by a pump in a close-loop system through the chiller's refrigeration unit. It is cooled below ambient temperature and then circulated through a vest or hood combination. In hot weather and high temperature environments, the vest protects the body's own natural cooling system from heat stress, heat stroke and exhaustion by absorbing excessive body heat. When protective clothing is worn over the cooling vest, safety and health concerns associated with performance, alertness, concentration and fatigue are greatly reduced since an individual's temperature is maintained at a preferred comfortable level.
On many other types of heat transfer applications, the cold liquid from the chiller may be circulated by the pump to various types of accessories, including mini food chests, medical cabinets, electronic enclosures, fuel modules, etc., so that unwanted heat can be absorbed by an internal cold plate or heat exchanger.
Typical applications include: military, aerospace, motor sport, construction, rescue, firefighting, medical, marine, hazardous waste, fuel management, electronic, motorcross, recreational, diving, mining, welding, computer, painting, foundries, engine rooms, sandblasting, chemical plants, etc.
The THERMAL STAR® REFRIGERATED COOLING SYSTEM can provide easy solutions for many heat management problems since it is a portable assembly that does not rely on traditional heat-sinks, fans, or other types of air-moving devices to provide cooling.
