The THERMAL STAR® COOLING VEST, developed by ELECTRIC FAN ENGINEERING, is an advanced design heat transfer system that uses a battery-powered fan to circulate air through a special, sophisticated cooling material that absorbs perspiration. On a hot day, the forced air moving through the vest provides thermal conductivity. Body temperature is lowered in two ways: 1) by convection, similar to a car's radiator, the air movement cools the skin; 2) by evaporation, body heat is reduced by vaporizing and absorbing perspiration.
The THERMAL STAR® COOLING VEST protects the body's own natural cooling system from heat stress, heat stroke and exhaustion by absorbing excessive body heat. Safety and health concerns associated with performance, alertness, concentration and fatigue are greatly reduced since an individual's temperature is maintained at a preferred comfortable level.
Systems can be quickly installed. Simply mount the fan in a convenient location, connect to a power source, and attach the hose.
Typical applications include military, aerospace, marine, motor sport, construction, welding, painting, sandblasting, rescue and law enforcement, etc.
Fix mounted systems are available for both 12 and 24 volt applications. An optional portable system, with rechargeable battery pack, is also available.
